Maximiliano (Max) González Citterio

Max, como lo llamamos todos, es hoy en día el líder/director  de Uskccs (realmente no tiene un título formal). Unos lo llamamos el jefe, otros el gran Max, otros el líder, Director y así. Lo que si tengo claro es que Max es la persona que ha mantenido al grupo activo, desde que él mismo una vez terminado los eventos, que ya he mencionado en anteriores entradas, continuó con las actividades de dibujo esta vez por cuenta propia y hasta el sol de hoy.

"Desde mi niñez he dibujado, todo tipo de dibujo desde la fantasía a la realidad, en mi adolescencia fui agregando dibujos de partes del colegio, de la zona donde vivía. Cuando empecé la universidad (Estudios de Arquitectura) entre mis ratos de ocio y la obligación de la carrera se hicieron cotidianos los registros de la ciudad y se volvieron parte de mi hobby haciéndose ya algo mucho más serio tanto como profesional de la Arquitectura como de la Ilustración/Artista Plástico. En ese registro de la ciudad incluyo siempre tanto lo referente a su arquitectura y su urbanismo, como su historia, cotidianidad, su gente, su día a día"

Sobre sus inicios como Director del grupo Uskccs:

" Reunir por primera vez un gran grupo en algo que yo tenía como costumbre algo muy individual, muy personal, luego pasar a coordinar un grupo que pensé sería de entre 5 a 10 personas pero nuestro primer encuentro en la Plaza Bolívar de Chacao tuvo una concurrencia exitosa (más de 25 dibujantes entre conocidos y nuevos) solo por mi correo y mi Facebook personal (todavía no se tenían ninguna email/RRS de los USKCCS) "

Le pregunté a  Max sobre cómo  organiza las jornadas : 

"Varias maneras: Planificación previa, propuesta del grupo, propuestas individuales, invitaciones especiales, dependiendo si el lugar es público, semi-privado o privado pero lo más importante que sea interesante para nuestros propósitos. A veces se programan las visitas varias veces a un mismo sitio debido a sus posibilidades, como técnicas a practicar, aspectos del lugar, importancia histórica, estética, eventos, etc."

Max es un hombre relajado, yo diría que hasta tímido. Cuando comenzamos a dibujar él simplemente se pone a dibujar también y nos deja a nuestras anchas, es imposible para nosotros no involucrarnos en una tertulia con risas, cuentos, etc. Max solo observa, se ríe, es discreto, paciente, y responde todas las preguntas que se nos ocurren, en fin , creo que su alma de Profesor está allí siempre, por algo hoy en día es profesor de nada más y nada menos que de "la casa que vence las sombras", la Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV).  Y lo pongo así de importante porque aunque algunos no hayamos estudiado allí, la UCV es sagrada, es un símbolo en cada persona que vive en nuestra ciudad, Caracas. De lo que estoy convencida es que la constancia, el interés, y la responsabilidad de que el grupo aun funcione es totalmente gracias a la perseverancia de Max, todo ello combinado con su trabajo tanto de profesor como de arquitecto.

La concepción del dibujo urbano hoy en día según su visión:

"Como grupo que se dedica a recorrer a Caracas dibujándola, nuestro punto de vista es como de un cronista gráfico que deja un registro personalizado (cada dibujo es único tanto de punto de vista como de estilo) de lo que pasa en la ciudad, de sus rincones, de su gente, de lo que hace su gente y el arte urbano es uno de ellos. Es una manifestación consciente y premeditada, que pretende llamar la atención de los ciudadanos sobre un tema o un lugar mediante estrategias “artísticas”. Hemos visto en los últimos años en Caracas gran variedad de iniciativas de parte de muchos tipos de agrupaciones con o sin patrocinios para crear, manifestarse, mucha participación de la ciudadanía tal vez buscando esa parte de la ciudad que consideran lejana y buscan recuperar, esa búsqueda de la empatía de los demás ciudadanos que por una razón u otra no participan, sea fugaz o perenne (a propósito), se busca que su manifestación sea vista, apreciada, sea inclusiva, participativa, transmita un mensaje, un propósito. El dibujo urbano debido a su origen artístico y su interrelación con el entorno, la ciudad y la gente, se puede considerar una manifestación artística urbana tanto o más válida que la fotografía (por antigüedad) debido a que los registros de manifestaciones culturales antiguas nos han llegado gracias a registros ilustrados por artistas en su época mucho antes que la fotografía (siglo XIX) y además son manifestaciones artísticas por si mismas."

A través de los años Max no solo ha establecido muchas relaciones con diferentes agrupaciones que se han organizado en la ciudad ,sino que también ha llevado al grupo a exponer en el Ateneo de Caracas, y nos sorprendió a todos cuando pidió nuestros dibujos del Parque del Este para exponerlos en la Galería de Arte Nacional , en el merecido homenaje a nuestro Parque, que es prácticamente el sitio por excelencia donde celebramos nuestro aniversario. Esa exposición se llamó Oasis Urbano.

"Luego de varios años hemos visitado y revisitado muchísimos de lugares, algunos hay que visitarlos dependiendo la ocasión, otros habrá que esperar debido a que necesita cierta logística pero en general faltan muchísimos lugares de Caracas y alrededores como el sector La Rinconada, Casas de finales del siglo XIX, Villa Planchart, Escuela de Enfermería de Sebucán etc., etc"

Yo creo que Max se ha ganado su sitio a punta de esfuerzo y por supuesto se ha ganado el respeto y cariño de todo el grupo, aunque tal vez no se lo digamos o se lo demostremos, yo creo que con solo asistir a su llamado es evidencia que su liderazgo es importante y muy valorado.

Y a dónde quiere llegar Max con el grupo? 

"Volver asistir a los simposios anuales de los USK, tener publicaciones físicas de la mayoría de los magníficos trabajos producidos durante las reuniones del grupo y por supuesto que nuestra actividad se difunda en las otras ciudades de Venezuela" 

Y yo a esto solo puedo decir:   pues que Así sea!

Max, as we all call him, is today the leader / director of Uskccs (he doesn't really have a formal title). Some of us call him the boss, others the great Max, others the leader, Director and so on. What I am clear about is that Max is the person who has kept the group active, once the events ended, which I have already mentioned in previous posts, he continued with the drawing activities this time on his own and until the today.

"Since my childhood I have drawn, all kinds of drawing from fantasy to reality, in my adolescence I was adding drawings of parts of the school, of the area where I lived. When I started university (Architecture Studies) between my free time and the obligation of the degree, the city records were made daily and they became part of my hobby, becoming something much more serious both as a professional of Architecture and Illustration / Plastic Artist. In that record of the city I always include both what referring to its architecture and its urbanism, such as its history, daily life, its people, its day to day "

On his beginnings as Director of the Uskccs group:

"To gather for the first time a large group in something that I had as a custom, something very individual, very personal, then go on to coordinate a group that I thought would be between 5 to 10 people but our first meeting in Plaza Bolívar de Chacao had a crowd successful (more than 25 artists between acquaintances and new ones) just by my email and my personal Facebook (no email / RRS from the USKCCS was available yet) "

I asked Max about how he organizes the sessions:

"Several ways: Pre-planning, group proposal, individual proposals, special invitations, depending on whether the place is public, semi-private or private, but the most important thing is that it is interesting for our purposes. Sometimes visits are scheduled several times to a same site due to its possibilities, such as techniques to practice, aspects of the place, historical importance, aesthetics, events, etc. "

Max is a laid back man, I'd say he's even shy. When we start to draw he simply starts drawing too and leaves us at our leisure, it is impossible for us not to get involved in a gathering with laughter, stories, etc. Max just watches, laughs, is discreet, patient, and answers all the questions that come our minds, in summary, I think his soul as a Professor is always there, for a reason today he is a teacher of nothing more and nothing less than "the house that conquers the shadows", the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV).  And I make it that important because although some of us have not studied there, the UCV (Universidad Central De Venezuela) is sacred, a world heritage, it is a symbol in each person who lives in our city, Caracas. I am convinced of that perseverance, interest, and responsibility the group still works is totally thanks to Max's perseverance, all combined with his work as both a teacher and an architect.

The conception of urban drawing today according to his vision:

"As a group that is dedicated to traveling to Caracas drawing it, our point of view is of a graphic chronicler who leaves a personalized record (each drawing is unique in both point of view and style) of what happens in the city, of its corners, its people, what its people do and urban art is one of them. It is a conscious and premeditated manifestation, which aims to draw the attention of citizens to a subject or a place through "artistic" strategies. seen in recent years in Caracas, a great variety of initiatives by many types of groups with or without sponsorships to create, demonstrate, a lot of citizen participation, perhaps looking for that part of the city that they consider distant and seek to recover, that search for the empathy of other citizens who for one reason or another do not participate, whether fleeting or perennial (on purpose), it is sought that their manifestation is seen, appreciated, inclusive, participatory, transmits a message, a purpose. The urban drawing due to its artistic origin and its interrelation with the environment, the city and the people, can be considered an urban artistic manifestation as much or more valid than photography (by antiquity) because the records of ancient cultural manifestations have us arrived thanks to records illustrated by artists in their time long before photography (19th century) and they are also artistic manifestations by themselves. "

Over the years Max has not only established many relationships with different groups organized in the city, but he has also led the group to exhibit at the Ateneo de Caracas, and he surprised us all when he asked for our drawings of the "Parque del Este" to be exhibited in the National Art Gallery, in a well-deserved tribute to our Park, which is practically the place for excellence where we celebrate our anniversary each year. That exhibition was called Oasis Urbano , Urban Oasis.

"After several years we have visited and revisited many places, some have to be visited depending on the occasion, others will have to wait because it needs some logistics but in general there are many places in Caracas and surroundings such as the La Rinconada sector, Casas de final 19th century, Villa Planchart, Sebucán Nursing School etc., etc "

I believe that Max has earned his place through effort and of course he has earned the respect and affection of the entire group, although perhaps we will not tell him or show it to him, I believe that just attending his call is evidence that your leadership is important and highly valued.

And where does Max want to go with the group?

"To attend the annual symposiums of the USK again, to have physical publications of most of the magnificent works produced during the group's meetings and of course that our activity is disseminated in the other cities of Venezuela"

And I can only say to this: So be it!
