Tony o Lápiz Viajero, es Diseñador Gráfico, encuadernador artesanal, dibuja desde niño. Fue alumno del conocido periodista y dibujante Carlos Galindo, "Sancho". A través de un amigo se enteró del evento de Faber Castell mencionado en entrada del mes de Septiembre. Sin entender de qué se trataba el dibujo urbano (urban sketching), se sumó al evento.

"...asistí a casi todas las reuniones en distintos puntos de la ciudad. Al terminar esta campaña, algunos dibujantes quisimos seguir con tan amenas reuniones en varios puntos de la ciudad, serían los primeros pasos para el nacimiento de Dibujantes Urbanos Caracas. Continuaron efectuándose las reuniones y en un número creciente de miembros"
En Enero 2013 Tony viaja al interior del país:
"Me fui con lo que tenía puesto y mi vieja mochila azul con una libreta de sketcher que fabriqué yo mismo, era la primera libreta que había hecho después de tantos años, había sido encuadernador artesanal...nunca imaginé que años después mis conocimientos de encuadernación me fuesen a servir. Tomé mi vuelo, le tengo pavor a los aviones, pero aún me monto...fue donde nació El Lápiz Viajero como concepto artístico, cronista urbano. De allí comencé a dibujar las regiones, ciudades, pueblos, caseríos, comunidades indígenas y todos los lugares a donde viajo..."

Desde entonces Tony es uno de los dibujantes, diría yo, mas prolíficos del grupo, tiene dibujos como para publicar un libro, él tiene una enorme capacidad para dibujar todo lo que se le atraviese, aunque sean cables de electricidad colgando desordenadamente de los edificios, si está entre su vista y su cuaderno, quedará plasmado para que todos lo vean.
Sobre las jornadas Uskccs:
" Comencé a asistir a estas reuniones que poco a poco, fueron allanando el camino para dar lugar a grandes cambios en mi vida, me hicieron salir de una aburrida y monótona oficina con aire acondicionado, conocer personas increíbles y especiales en este grupo del que guardo recuerdos extraordinarios, pero las cosas han cambiado y muchos se fueron buscando nuevos rumbos. Pero tengo fe que algún día volveremos a reunirnos en forma tan numerosa como lo fue en aquellos primeros días" 
Actualmente Tony se dedica a diseñar artes como volantes y manuales corporativos, me contó que se está instruyendo con programas de edición para televisión.

Tony or Lápiz Viajero is a Graphic Designer, artisan bookbinder, draws since he was a child. He was a student of the well-known journalist and cartoonist Carlos Galindo, "Sancho". Through a friend he found out about the Faber Castell event mentioned at the beginning of the month of September. Without understanding what urban sketching was all about, he joined the event.
"... I attended almost all the meetings in different parts of the city. At the end of this campaign, some sketchers wanted to continue with such pleasant meetings in various parts of the city, they would be the first steps towards the birth of Urban Sketchers Caracas. Meetings taking place and in a growing number of members "
In January 2013 Tony travels to inside the country:
"I left only with what I was wearing and my old blue backpack with a sketchbook that I made myself, it was the first notebook I had made after so many years, I had been a craft bookbinder ... I never imagined that years later my knowledge of bookbinding was going to serve me. I took my flight, I am terrified of airplanes, but I still ride ... it was where Lápiz Viajero (traveler pencil) was born as an artistic concept, urban chronicler. From there I began to draw the regions, cities, towns, hamlets , indigenous communities and all the places where I travel ... "
Since then Tony is one of the most prolific artists of the group, I would say, he has drawings to publish a book, he has an enormous capacity to draw everything that comes his way, even if there are electricity cables hanging disorderly from buildings, if it is between your sight and your notebook, it will be displayed for all to see.
About the Uskccs meetings:
"I began to attend these meetings that little by little, were paving the way to lead to great changes in my life, they made me leave a boring and monotonous office with air conditioning, meet incredible and special people in this group of which I keep extraordinary memories, but things have changed and many have gone looking for new directions. But I have faith that one day we will meet again as numerous as it was in those early days "
Currently Tony is dedicated to designing arts such as flyers and corporate manuals, he told me that he is training with editing television programs.
About the sketchers:
"each one is different but for me they are special"
Without a doubt we are all different and Tony is a character.
