El Parque del Este (oficialmente llamado Parque Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda), fundado en 1961 es un sitio emblemático para los Dibujantes Urbanos, primero porque es el lugar por excelencia donde celebramos nuestro aniversario todos los años y segundo porque además es el parque mas importante de la ciudad de Caracas, siendo que en su construcción se involucraron personajes como Roberto Burle-Marx, célebre paisajista de Brasil; los arquitectos-paisajistas Fernando Tábora y John Stoddart, chileno el primero y británico el segundo; de nuestros mas importantes botánicos como Leandro Aristiguieta además de los arquitectos Alejandro Pietri, Carlos Guinand quien fue uno de los arquitectos venezolanos mas importantes del s. XX ...pero mencionar a estos señores tan brevemente aquí no les hace justicia, el proyecto del Parque del Este fue extraordinario y su trabajo brillante, cada uno merece muchas lineas para escribir sobre sus trayectorias y sus destacadas obras. Eso se lo dejo a los que conocen perfectamente esa materia.

El Parque del Este vive en la memoria de los Caraqueños desde nuestra infancia, ha sido donde hemos ido a jugar; a aprender a montar bicicleta; a hacer ejercicios; a ver animalitos; a escuchar las aves; a celebrar cumpleaños y respirar aire fresco, en fin, una obra de tal magnitud que incluye entre otras cosas un planetario; canchas de voleibol; baloncesto y futbolito; un terrario; una concha acústica y diferentes áreas donde permanecían animales de variadas especies; fuentes; murales; lagunas y servicios de comida, en resumen era un Parque ejemplar, único y hermoso.

En Diciembre de 2017 fuimos invitados a la exposición "Oasis Urbano, imágenes y documentos del Parque Francisco de Miranda" , una exposición realizada en la Galería de Arte Nacional (GAN) y donde acompañamos con nuestros dibujos una increíble recopilación de planos arquitectónicos, libros, documentos y fotos sobre el parque, fuimos muy honrados al formar parte de esta exposición. Este es uno de los logros de Max con el grupo diría yo.

Lamentablemente muy deteriorado en estos tiempos, como habitantes de esta ciudad, esperamos que en algún momento se recupere esta obra de incalculable valor tanto por su diseño como del valor emocional para los Caraqueños donde nos incluimos por supuesto los dibujantes.

The Parque del Este (officially called Parque Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda), founded in 1961 is an emblematic site for Urban Sketchers, first because it is the place par excellence where we celebrate our anniversary every year and second, because it is also the most important park in the city of Caracas, since characters such as Roberto Burle-Marx, a famous Brazilian landscape painter, were involved in its construction; landscape architects Fernando Tábora and John Stoddart, the first Chilean and the second British; of our most important botanists such as Leandro Aristiguieta in addition to the architects Alejandro Pietri, Carlos Guinand who was one of the most important Venezuelan architects of the s. XX ... but mentioning these gentlemen so briefly here does not do them justice, El Parque del Este project was extraordinary and his brilliant work, each one deserves many lines to write about their careers and his outstanding works. I leave that information to those who knows perfectly that matter of these talented gentlemen.
El Parque del Este lives in the memory of the Caraqueños since our childhood, it has been where we have gone to play; to learn to ride a bicycle; to do exercises; to see animals; to listen to the birds; to celebrate birthdays and breathe fresh air, in short, a work of such magnitude that it includes, among other things, a planetarium; volleyball courts; basketball and football; a terrarium; an acoustic shell and different areas where animals of various species were kept; sources; murals; lagoons and food services, in short it was an exemplary park, unique and beautiful.
In December 2017 we were invited to the exhibition "Urban Oasis, images and documents of the Francisco de Miranda Park", an exhibition held at the National Art Gallery (GAN) and where we accompany with our drawings an incredible collection of architectural plans, books, documents and photos about the park, we were very honored to be part of this exhibition. I would say this is one of Max's achievements with the group.
Unfortunately, very deteriorated in these times, as inhabitants of this city, we hope that at some point this work of incalculable value will be recovered both for its design and for the emotional value for the Caraqueños, where we include of course the sketchers.
