Antonio es Diseñador Gráfico, graduado hace 30 años o mas, en el Instituto de Diseño de la Fundación Neumann y con una trayectoria profesional muy fructífera.
"He trabajado siempre en el área de diseño gráfico y sus variantes, comencé trabajando en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Caracas durante seis años, luego trabajé por mi cuenta, pasé por Leo Burnett Publicidad como Director de Arte, ahí practiqué el dibujo y su expresión gráfica para hacer los “history board” y bocetos. Luego me invitaron a formar parte del equipo de Image & Retail donde trabajo y soy socio actualmente".
Antonio empezó en los Urban Sketchers como una buena parte del grupo en el ya mencionado evento de Faber Castell :

Pero así como dibujamos nuestra vida cotidiana y las escenas normales de una ciudad, como habitantes de este país, a veces también nos toca dibujar eventos que no precisamente se dan todos los días pero que han dejado huellas, como por ejemplo las protestas; otros tan relevantes como tener a tu hermana de oradora de orden en un recinto tan importante como la Asamblea Nacional, y de paso en una fecha tan emblemática como el 5 de julio. Y eso es precisamente lo que Antonio nos muestra en este par de dibujos.

Los Dibujantes Urbanos no solo expresan su creatividad en jornadas de dibujo, he publicado en otras entradas que dos de ellos tatúan, otro que hace murales, otro hace retratos y bueno, Antonio dibuja en el asfalto.
A Antonio también lo conocemos por ser el artista de la Cota Mil, utiliza como lienzo el asfalto y con sus tizas plasma sus dibujos semanalmente, un regalo a la ciudad y sus habitantes. Salvo que esté lloviendo u ocupado, no hay Domingo que no recibamos una imagen con el saludo de Antonio, actividad que lleva haciendo desde hace 8 años! no es genial?.
Me gusta eso de hacerle un regalo semanal a tu ciudad, que los usuarios domingueros se encuentren un mensaje en el asfalto; que se asombren los que lo ven la primera vez; que lo esperen los asiduos a la Cota; que se le ocurra a alguien llevar a otro que nunca lo ha visto, o también que lo extrañen los que no lo encuentren un domingo.
Me gusta el arte en nuestra ciudad, nos hace mas humanos!.

Antonio is a Graphic Designer, graduated 30 or more years ago from the Instituto de Diseño de la Fundación Newmann and with a very fruitful professional career.

Antonio started in the Urban Sketchers as others on the group in the mentioned Faber Castell event mentioned before.

But just as we draw our daily life and the normal scenes of a city, as inhabitants of this country, sometimes we also have to draw events that do not exactly happen every day but that have left traces, such as protests; others as relevant as having your sister as a speaker of order in a place as important as the National Assembly, and incidentally on a date as emblematic as July 5, our date of independence. And that is precisely what Antonio shows us in this pair of drawings.
Urban Sketchers not only express their creativity in drawing days, I have published in other posts that two of them tattoo, another who makes murals, another does portraits and well, Antonio draws on the asphalt.
We also know Antonio for being the artist of Cota Mil - a highway that runs from east to west along the emblematic mountain of Caracas, El Avila - he uses asphalt as a canvas and with his chalk he shapes his drawings weekly, a gift to the city and its inhabitants. Unless it's raining or busy, there is no Sunday that we do not receive an image with Antonio's greeting, an activity that he has been doing for 8 years! isn't it cool ?.
I like the idea to give our city a weekly gift, that Sunday users find a message on the asphalt; let those who see it the first time be amazed; Let the regulars of the Cota wait for you; that it occurs to someone to take someone else who has never seen him, or also that those who do not find him on Sunday may miss him.
I like art in our city, it makes us more human!
