Marisabela estudió Psicología y Sociología. Entra en 1975 en la Escuela de Arte Cristóbal Rojas donde estudia Expresión Plástica y en 1977 egresa del Centro de Enseñanza Gráfica donde aprende técnicas de grabado, litografía y serigrafía. Incursiona en el arte ya estando en la universidad y su primera exposición gana el 2do. premio del Salón anual de pintura de la UCAB (Universidad Católica Andrés Bello). Y de allí en adelante recibe en Caracas los siguientes Premios el 1er premio en el Noveno Salón Anual "Fernando Valero" ; el 2do premio en el Segundo Salón Anual "L'Atelier"; Mención honorífica en el Cuarto Salón "Estudio Fecha"; Bolsa de Trabajo en el Sexto Salón Nacional de Jóvenes Artistas del Consejo Nacional de la Cultura (CONAC); Premio Herrera Toro Salón Arturo Michelena, esto fue en Valencia,Venezuela; reconocimiento 1ra. Exposición de Miniaturas Gráficas del Taller de Artistas Gráficos (TAGA) Caracas y una mención honorífica en la V Bienal Iberoamericana en México. En cuanto a sus exposiciones individuales abarcan en nuestro país Caracas, Valencia, Maracay, Mérida, Guanare, Barquisimeto, Maracaibo, Ciudad Guayana e internacionalmente en New York y Pittsburg, USA: y en Madrid, España. Sus exposiciones colectivas en las que ha participado en Caracas, Bogotá , República Dominicana, Francia, España, México y Checoslovaquia.

Marisabela me dice que no se acuerda cuándo se unió a Uskccs, yo creo que fue en 2013 por la fecha de sus dibujos publicados, así que es de los miembros originales del grupo. Lo que si se acuerda es que fue nuestra compañera Esmeralda León quien la invitó a participar con el grupo, pues ambas pertenecen al Círculo de Dibujo de Caracas.

Una de las características de los dibujos de Marisabela, como se dan cuenta, no utiliza el color cuando de dibujo urbano se trata. Sus formatos son cuadrados y pequeños, he visto a veces que están perfectamente cortados y los transporta en cajitas de madera.
Otras de las actividades que ha realizado Marisabela es que ha sido ilustradora de diferentes publicaciones como Séptimo Día, Papel Literario del periódico El Nacional; la revista Estampas del periódico el Universal y las revistas de literatura Hojas de Calicanto, Zona Franca, Nueva Sociedad, Paréntesis e Imagen.
Las obras de Marisabela han sido publicadas en libros de Juan Calzadilla, en el Diccionario de Artes Visuales de Venezuela y representadas en diversos museos y colecciones privadas tanto en Venezuela como en el exterior. Las diversas opiniones de escritores, poetas y críticos de arte avala la calidad del trabajo como artista. Y no conforme con esto también es miembro fundador de la Asociación Venezolana de Artistas Plásticos, por sus siglas AVAP.

En estos últimos años Marisabela también se ha dedicado a impartir talleres sobre mandalas e inclusive ha publicado un libro llamado Gotas de Luz.
En fin, esta mujer menudita de hablar pausado y dulce, tiene en su haber una trayectoria artística de la que enorgullecernos como Venezolanos y ademas como Dibujantes Urbanos, no les parece?

To tell you about Marisabela as an urban sketcher, I must first tell you about her career as an artist, since she has a broad career both inside and outside of Venezuela. I have taken advantage of the last day of Uskccs on October 2 to ask her some questions and between brochures of her works and the glorious internet I have found a lot of about her, but it would take a long time to write everything here, so I will try to summarize as best as possible.
Marisabela studied Psychology and Sociology. In 1975 she entered Escuela Cristóbal Rojas (Art School) where she studied Plastic Expression and in 1977 she graduated from the Centro de Enseñanza Gráfica where she learned engraving, lithography and serigraphy techniques. She dabbles in art while in college and in her first exhibition wins the 2nd. Prize of the Annual Painting Salon of the UCAB (Universidad Católica Andrés Bello). And from then on she receives the following Awards in Caracas, the 1st prize at the Ninth Annual "Fernando Valero" Salon; 2nd prize at the Second Annual "L'Atelier" Salon; Honorable mention in the Fourth Hall "Estudio Date"; Job Bank in the Sixth National Salon of Young Artists of the COnsejo Nacional de la Cultura, CONAC (National Council of Culture) ; Herrera Toro Salón Arturo Michelena Award, this was in Valencia, Venezuela; recognition 1st. Exhibition of Graphic Miniatures of the Graphic Artists Workshop (TAGA) Caracas and an honorable mention at the V Ibero-American Biennial in Mexico. As for her individual exhibitions, they include Caracas, Valencia, Maracay, Mérida, Guanare, Barquisimeto, Maracaibo, Ciudad Guayana and internationally in New York and Pittsburg, USA: and in Madrid, Spain. Her group exhibitions in which she has participated in Caracas, Bogotá, the Dominican Republic, France, Spain, Mexico and Czechoslovakia.
Marisabela told me that she does not remember when she joined Uskccs, I think it was in 2013 due to the date of her published drawings, so it belongs to the original members of the group. She does remember that it was our colleague Esmeralda León who invited her to participate with the group, since she both belong to the Circulo de Dibujo de Caracas (Caracas Drawing Circle).
One of the characteristics of Marisabela's drawings, as you realize, does not use color when it comes to urban drawing. Its formats are square and small, I have sometimes seen that they are perfectly cut and it transports them in wooden boxes.
Other activities that Marisabela has carried out is that she has been an illustrator for different publications such as Séptimo Día, Papel Literario part of El Nacional newspaper; Estampas magazine part of El Universal newspaper and literatures magazines like Hojas de Calicanto, Zona Franca, Nueva Sociedad, Paréntesis e Imagen.
Marisabela's works have been published in books by Juan Calzadilla, in the Dictionary of Visual Arts of Venezuela and represented in various museums and private collections both in Venezuela and abroad. The diverse opinions of writers, poets and art critics attest to the quality of her work as an artist. And not satisfied with this, she is also a founding member of the Venezuelan Association of Plastic Artists, by its acronym AVAP.
In recent years, Marisabela has also dedicated herself to giving workshops on mandalas and has even published a book called Gotas de Luz.
In short, this little woman who speaks slowly and sweetly, she has to her credit an artistic career that we can be proud of as Venezuelans and also as Urban Sketchers, don't you think?
